Position Description:

Provides case management for those patients who are suspected of having or have Tuberculosis (TB); develops treatment plan and monitors care to ensure the patient is educated about TB, that treatment therapy is continuous, that contacts are examined, and that problems related to adherence are identified; audits records and assures all details of reporting are complete; maintains record work, i.e. lab report posting / charting in a thorough and timely manner; performs serologies and other diagnostic testing as indicated; serves as a liaison between the community and the department; assists with clinic and directly observed therapy (DOT) outreach duties as needed; conducts educational activities for staff and the public; assists with community TB screenings and research studies as needed; performs other duties relating to TB management as assigned; and participates in on-call rotation. public.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelorís degree from a state approved school of nursing preferred; or Bachelorís degree in another discipline and a Masterís degree from a state approved school of nursing preferred. Diploma or Associates Degree in nursing combined with a documented ability to competently perform all functions of this classification may be considered. All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment.

Requires ability to work with diverse populations, ability to work as a member of a interdisciplinary team, and strong communication skills.
Must successfully pass the Respiratory Mask Fit Test.
May require flextime working hours and some weekends.
Valid class ďDĒ driverís license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
Bilingual ability a plus.
