(Case Management/Communicable Disease Supervisor)

$63,058.31 per year depending on experience.

Position Description:

Directly supervises interdisciplinary staff including, but not limited to, nurse case manager-investigator, communicable disease investigators, x-ray techs, clerical staff, and outreach workers. Monitors the day to day function of the contact investigations, assists with the care of nursing case management, directly observed therapy, and social work services; provides leadership and oversight for day to day services provided to TB cases/suspects; Monitors patient care, assures that appropriate diagnostic tests, evaluation, treatment, counseling, and education are provided to patients; assures that appropriate lab services are provided for bacteriological studies, drug toxicity monitoring, and related blood tests; assures compliance with completion of TB therapy; coordinates quality assurance activities, assists in recruiting, hiring, and training clinic staff; evaluates clinic staff, assists with direct patient care as needed; serves as a liaison between MPHD and the community including public and private providers; collaborates with Program Director to develop, revise, and maintain appropriate clinical policies and procedures; serves as a member of the TB management team, collaborating in the development of a comprehensive approach to TB elimination.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelorís degree from a state approved school of nursing with four (4) years of nursing experience, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity preferred; or Bachelorís degree and a Masterís degree from a state approved school of nursing with four (4) of nursing experience, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity preferred. All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment. Possess required competencies upon hiring.

Must have the ability to work with diverse populations, must possess strong leadership skills, management skills, organizational skills, and written/oral communication skills. Must successfully pass the Respiratory Mask Fit Test. Requires flexible working hours and use of own transportation on the job.
