Supervises and manages clinic operations within the Community Health Bureau. Plans, organizes, directs operations and personnel; oversees administrative activities for the Preventive Health Clinics, Family Planning Program, and MPHD Pharmacy Operations; and directs the Quality Management Program for MPHD nursing staff.
Plans for the delivery of nursing and other designated public health services by interpreting and translating theoretical concepts of public health and nursing into the delivery of services.
Provides cost-effective use of all resources including monitoring financial expenditures for Public Health Clinics, occupational health and wellness, pharmacy, and clinical competencies and disaster support.
Provides continuous quality improvement processes such as developing monitoring tools; collection and interpretation of data; on-site inspections; and contract monitoring.
Evaluates services, and implements Key Results management information systems. Works with regulatory agencies to certify compliance with existing rules and ensures compliance with the scope of service for all clinical service related grants.
Ensures the preparation and submission of all necessary reports (including quarterly and annual reports).
Continuously seek cost effective drugs and devices while working to improve the delivery of services and customer satisfaction.
Conduct biannual audits of patient charts.
Serves as a member of Nursing Leadership team to promote public health nursing competency and organizational capacity.
Acts as contact and spokesperson for Family Planning Program (FP).
Supervises clinic staff, determines their assignments and deadlines, identifies needs for training, and conducts performance evaluations.
Bachelorís degree from a state approved school of nursing with four (4) years of nursing experience, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity required; or Bachelorís degree and a Masterís degree from a state approved school of nursing with four (4) of nursing experience, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity required. All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment. Possess required competencies upon hiring.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
