Provides interpretation services for Limited English Proficient (LEP) customers, patients and all MPHD staff. Interpretation may be rendered over-the-phone (OPI), via video (VRI), on-site, or in the field. Adheres to the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) and International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) standards of practice and code of ethics as well as all MPHD rules and regulations.
High school diploma or GED required. Interpretation experience preferred and candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment assessment of language proficiency and interpreter / communicative skills administered by a professional interpretation service.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government’s employment-based immigration programs.
Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
